Not much has really happened with us lately. I've updated on Mother's Day and Easter, but other than that we've just been busy with living life. Sam's doing great at work and enjoys his job. The kids stay busy playing, growing, and loving being around so many cousins. I stay busy trying to keep up with life's messes, being a mom, and my new passion garage sale-ing (I just really don't know how to spell that word). Sorry we aren't more exciting!

Mother's Day
Truthfully, Mother's Day could have been better. Sam had to go in to work for a few hours before church, and I woke up very late. So I had to get myself and the kids ready in very little time. The whole day was just a little off after that. It was a nice day really, but I was just tired I think. It had been a busy weekend so by the time Sunday rolled around I was beat. Perhaps I always expect too much out of Mother's Day, but really it's pretty much just another day because you still have to deal with the same tantrums, messes, and hassles of every other day. Maybe that sounds a little cynical, but that's the reality. Sam was a dear though and let me have some quiet time after church to do as I pleased. Always appreciated. Rough Mother's Day aside, it truly is a joy to be a wife and mother and to be so completely involved in something so much bigger than myself. I'm grateful to Heavenly Father for allowing me to have this amazing experience!
Easter
We had a really busy and fun Easter weekend. On Friday my sister, Erin, and I took her 3 girls and Mila to see the movie Hop at the theater. This was Mila's first time going to the movies and she loved it! The girls had so much fun together so I want to take Mila again soon. After the movie we came home and dyed eggs together. It was a bit of a disaster. Erin and I got a little distracted from watching the kids color eggs and we left them alone in the kitchen for like 10 minutes. When we came back in Mila and Brennae had spilled 2 cups of dye all over the table and chairs, and unpeeled over a half dozen eggs and partially eaten them. They eggshells and uneaten egg pieces were in the other cups of dye and just all over the table, floor, and themselves. Wish I would have gotten a picture of it because it was one of those messes where you aren't really quite sure where to start the clean up process.
Pre-disaster :)
On Saturday the cousins came over for an egg hunt which we had to do indoors since it was raining. We also decorated cupcakes. I ended up doing most of them, but we all had fun.
Sunday was a beautiful Easter Day! We'd been having such nasty, rainy weather here that it seemed like nature was also celebrating Christ's resurrection with us. We had a lovely dinner with the family and gave Mila and Emmitt their baskets. Mila's basket had all sorts of goodies in it. Emmitt's eggs were just filled with different flavored puffs and Cheerios.
I searched high and low for an affordable, cute Easter dress for Mila. I bought a couple, and then I remembered I bought this dress when Mila was 6 months old at a garage sale thinking that someday I could use it for Easter. It was in perfect condition and had a killer price tag: 75 cents! Can't beat that! Those other dresses of course went back to the store :)

Guess Who's Crawling!
Emmitt, of course! Well, he's actually been crawling for a month now.
And he's in to everything.
Can't be mad at this face though!
He's particularly fond of paper. And shoes. We definitely don't need a dog.
He found a piece of blue streamer at a birthday celebration a few weeks ago. Obviously, it turned his mouth blue (and anything else it touched). He later found a red piece. I then tore down and threw away the streamers.
He also has two teeth. They came in the week after Christmas. I just hadn't dedicated a picture to the new buckers yet.
Love that smile! He really likes to bite though. He's given me a few bruises on my arms, so I'm a little scared for him to get more teeth.
Seriously, Emmitt! He is the messiest eater! I admit, I don't really enjoy feeding him solids. He always grabs the spoon, gets the food all over his hands, and then rubs his eyes or something like that. That exact sequence of events preceded this picture.
There are a few more new posts after this one. I haven't felt like anything too interesting has gone on, so I didn't think much about posting. I was surprised though at how many pictures I had on the camera. Enjoy!
Stickers
Mila got a book of stickers for her birthday, and I have been finding them EVERYWHERE!
The wall. This is just one victim of many.
Doors.
Silverware. I admit, that's a creative place.
Tables. Good job on following the curved line.
The counter.
A laptop box.
I've found them in the carpet, in Emmitt's mouth, on all of our clothes, well..you get the idea. I will never be free of them!
Best Buds
I have been really lucky that Mila and Emmitt LOVE to be with each other. They have so much fun playing and laughing together. I love hearing them giggle in the next room!
Ok. I just love this picture of Mila! It is so funny! She still has the chubbiest face. She was way chubbier than Emmitt is. I guess he is way more active way earlier than she was, too. Maybe that's partly why. I don't know.
So sweet :) I must admit, my faith that Mila will ever have hair on the sides of her head is beginning to waver. I keep having to cut the back to keep the mullet under control.
Sometimes I put Emmitt in the high chair while I cook, and Mila will then drag it over to her little table and play with him. They were playing with Guess Who pieces. Emmitt ate so many of the little cards that we threw the game away.
Mila got into the colanders one day and thought they made fun hats. She made sure Emmitt got a chance to try on

My Silly Girl
This little snowman was so cute! Sam and Mila built it. I wanted to get a picture of them together with their snowman, but Mila wouldn't get closer to the snowman than this. She's so funny sometimes.
Terra sent her kids' old Ipods out to us and Mila has been loving it. There are some movies and cartoons on them and she will go get the Ipod, put on the giant, adult-size headphones, curl up on the couch, and enjoy. This particular picture made me laugh because of her hair.
See! She loves it!
We were eating some salad at lunch one day, and she lined up all her celery along the fork handle. I've never thought to do that.
A few days later, while snacking on some carrots, she decided to decorate the stuffed animal with them.
I was getting in my bed one night and pulled back my blankets to find one of Mila's babies sleeping in my bed. Whenever she puts something down to sleep, it always sleeps face-down.
Mila loves to play with and eat ANY type of dough--bread dough, cookie dough, pizza dough, salt dough, whatever. She also is obsessed with turning said dough into "snakes." There's a whole family here.
She saw Tori laying on the couch and wanted to do it too. The ottoman was a perfect fit. Another scrunchy-faced smile from my silly girl :)
From the kitchen I saw that she had something on her face. But what?
Her cousin's upside-down glasses! Silly me. Of course you need someone else's upside-down glasses when watching a movie.
Just love the random smiles and laughs this girl brings to my life!
